CONSTITUTION AND BY LAWS OF THE UROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF KASHMIR (USK) 1. NAME OF THE SOCIETY The name of the society shall be "UROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF KASHMIR (USK)". 2. REGISTERED OFFICE The registered office of the Society shall be at Sheikh-Ul-Alam Medical Centre, Old Karan Nagar, Opposite Enco Pump, Srinagar, J&K. 3. MISSION "TO EDUCATE AND SERVE" 4. PURPOSE To promote highest standards in urology teaching and patient care within the Kashmir Valley. 5. OBJECTIVES A) To provide a platform and pool together clinical and academic expertise of the urologists working in Kashmir. B) To further develop and strengthen the concept of multi-disciplinary management of urological diseases. C) To share experience and best practice across the board by presenting interesting urological cases and complications at meetings on a regular basis. 6. MEMBERSHIP Membership will be open to registered medical practitioners involved or associated with the practice of urology who are practising in Kashmir. 6.1 FULL MEMBERS: Urologists holding recognised qualifications in Urology (M.Ch, DNB) in Kashmir. 6.2 TRAINEE MEMBERS: Doctors in Kashmir who are undergoing training in Urology (M.Ch, DNB) in Kashmir. 7. NOMINATION FOR MEMBERSHIP Nomination for all types of membership will be by being sponsored by two Full Members of the Society. 8. CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP The Executive Committee will have the discretion to terminate the membership if it is found that material facts supplied in the application were incorrect or misleading, or if any adverse information regarding the professional or personal conduct of the member which would bring the Society to disrepute, is brought to its attention. 9. SUBSCRIPTION FOR MEMBERSHIP (ONE TIME) - Full Members: Rs. 2,000 - Trainee Members: Rs. 1,000 10. OFFICE BEARERS & EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Officers of the Society shall be the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. All officers will be elected to their respective posts and none of them will be eligible for re-election. The four office bearers will comprise the Executive Committee of the Society and will be chaired by the President (in his absence, the Vice-President). All office bearers will have individual job descriptions which will define their respective responsibilities. - PRESIDENT: The President shall hold office following the meeting at which he/she is confirmed, for a maximum of two years. In addition to chairing the Executive Committee, the President shall preside at the Annual General Meeting. - VICE-PRESIDENT: The Vice-President shall be elected for two years. He/She will perform all duties of the President in the absence of the latter or at his request. - SECRETARY: The Secretary shall be elected for two years. He/She will look after the day-to-day affairs of the Society under the direction of the President, summon all meetings, prepare agendas, keep minutes of proceedings, maintain the membership register, and formulate the annual report. - TREASURER: The Treasurer shall be elected for two years. He/She will look after financial affairs, receive subscriptions, pay authorized bills, keep true and accurate records, and prepare audited annual financial statements. 11. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS Three members of the Society will be members of the Executive Council, elected by the Full Members for a period of two years. 12. BANK ACCOUNT & SIGNATORIES The bank account shall be operated by the Treasurer. The Secretary & Treasurer will be the signatories to the account. ARTICLE XVII – UTILIZATION OF FUNDS The funds of the Urological Society of Kashmir (USK) shall be utilized exclusively for the attainment of the aims and objectives of the Society, including: A. Organizing scientific conferences, annual meetings, workshops, CME programmes, and academic activities; B. Promoting research, training, fellowships, publications, scholarships, and educational initiatives in urology; C. Meeting administrative, operational, communication, IT, website maintenance, banking, audit, and statutory expenses; D. Providing honoraria, travel, accommodation, and hospitality for invited faculty, speakers, and official representatives as approved by the Executive Committee; E. Purchasing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment, educational resources, and assets required for the functioning of the Society; F. Meeting any other expenditure approved by the Executive Committee consistent with the aims and objectives of the Society. No part of the Society's income, funds, or property shall be distributed directly or indirectly among its members by way of profit, dividend, or personal benefit. Reimbursement of legitimate authorized expenses is permissible. Accounts shall be audited annually by a qualified auditor.
